Featured Quote

"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."
Albert Schweitzer
This is the quote that inspired me to make AllAboutFastpitch.com what it is today and to develop this site as well.

How to use Inspirational Quotes - Tips

So you've come to Inspirational Quotes for motivation and feel great now that you've read the quotes. Now what? What can you do now so that these quotes have a more lasting impact than this motivated feeling you have now? Here are a few tips on what I've done with inspirational quotes. Remember to take a look at our Disclaimer/Terms of Use before using any quotes.

Coaches and Parents
Coaches and parents basically use these same tips. The only difference would be that coaches will use them for an entire team whereas parents will probably only utilize these tips with their own children. Here they are...

~ Send athletes to the site ~
Have your players/child(ren) visit this site and read through our inspirational quotes. Let them choose
2-3 of their favorite quotes and write them in their own style (i.e. in their own colors, own lettering, etc) on a blank piece of paper. Tell them to have fun with it! Make it colorful and make it big enough to read easily. Give them at least a day to get this done and show it to you. Doing this insures that they aren't just skimming over the quotes, but thinking about them as well.

You can also have them choose one of those inspirational quotes and have them memorize it. Give them a few days, maybe even a week, and tell them they'll be reciting their favorite inspirational quote to you once that time period is up. When I did this with my players, I gave them the "assignment" on Monday and told them I'd be asking them about their favorite quote on Wednesday (game day). Before we started our pre-game warm-up I asked them to tell me their quote. You can believe they were reviewing their inspirational quote all day long prior to the game. I believe it helped put them in a positive frame of mind going into the game. They were actually all excited to tell me what quote they chose!

~ Make a Sports Folder ~
Make folders for each athlete to keep articles, "assignments", goals, and other useful paperwork in. They enjoy having their own sports folder and can lean back on it any time they need to re-focused, review goals, or get inspiration. It becomes their personal, tangible, resource they can look over at their leisure in the privacy of their own home. Check out the articles page at AllAboutFastpitch.com for great articles to include in a sports folder.

Athletes
Read through our inspirational quotes and choose a few of your favorites. Post your favorite inspirational quotes in areas that you view frequently. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Near your bed - you'll see it every night before you go to sleep and every morning when you wake up in the morning
  • On the ceiling above your bed - it'll be the last thing you see before you go to sleep and the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning
  • Next to your bathroom mirror
  • First page in the binder you use most for school
  • On the cover of your school binder or school books
  • In your school locker, athletic locker, or both
